World music is definitely difficult to definy as a single genre, and the debate over this term will go on and on. Personally, I consider world music to be all that music that contains traditional elements that are more or less present and combined with various other musical genres and approaches. In one part of the world, the term 'world' has been replaced by 'global', but considering that it includes everything that was 'world' before, the definition is the same there too.
In its heterogeneous form, world music has become an increasingly present term in the music world in recent years. Many musicians use elements of tradition and combine them with jazz, (psychedelic) rock, electronics, funk, all kinds of genres, and there are also numerous fusions of traditional elements from different countries. You can call the genre whatever you want, there are a lot of great new releases every day. My desire is to bring people closer to all the beautiful music from around the world.
Considering that most people listen to music on streaming platforms, I created playlists on Tidal and Spotify. They are called "100 best new world/global songs by Izvorista" and are renewed at least once a week. So some songs come in, some go out...
