Dogo du Togo & The Alagaa Beat Band - Avoudé (We Are Busy Bodies, 2024)
Serge Massama Dogo, known as Dogo du Togo, was born in Togo but spent 20 years in the United States, where he began his music career. A few years ago, he returned to Lomé where he formed a new band called Alagaa Beat Band. Together they recorded this album, which occasionally flirts with Afrobeat but is best described as psychedelic Afro-rock heavily influenced by traditional Togolese music.
Julián Mayorga - Chak Chak Chak Chak (Glitterbeat Records, 2024)
It is difficult to describe the music of Julián Mayorga. The Colombian artist likes to play with traditional motifs of cumbia and other South American music, deconstructing them and then rebuilding them in innovative ways. That's how he describes himself: An excellent description indeed.
