Izvorišta 422: Franck Biyong, Dunije, Tony Allen
Three weeks have passed since this show was broadcast on Radio Student, Radio Roža, KLFM, Sun Radio and Radio Bruškin, and now it is finally online. In this episode, I announced the then-upcoming concerts in Zagreb, including Damir Imamović, Lalalar, Buzz' Ayaz and The Cyclist Conspiracy. Besides that, I played two new songs by Croatian artists - the lead single by the supergroup Dunije, consisting of Dunja Knebl, Nina Romić and Jelena Galić, and a track from the new album by Trio Franolić Mureškić Gabrić entitled "Lost and Found".
Among the new albums from around the world, the focus was on Cameroonian musician Franck Biyong. He tirelessly releases albums year after year, often with somewhat experimental work, but Radio Masoda is a fully-fledged afrobeat/highlife album with lots of groove and excellent guest musicians. One of the tracks features the late Tony Allen, so I followed it up with a few more songs featuring the legendary Nigerian drummer.
