With the announcement of Marija Mazzotta's concert, which was held on November 13 at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb, several new albums were presented in this show. Highlights include the Spanish group Tarta Relena, the Ghanaian musician Peter Somuah and the Senegalese virtuoso Seckou Keita. Tarta Relena - És Pregunta (Latency Records, 2024)

Tarta Relena is made up of Helena Ros Redon and Marta Torrella i Martínez, Spanish musicians who are considered pioneers of the new Catalan scene rooted in traditional music. They successfully deconstruct traditional sounds and add modern, innovative elements. És Pregunta is their new album, on which they combine flamenco and other traditional music with electronic and occasionally experimental sounds in an exciting way.

Peter Somuah - Highlife (ACT Records, 2024)

With the title of his new album, Ghanaian trumpeter Peter Somuah pays homage to highlife, probably the most iconic music genre in his home country. The album truly showcases the best of highlife, a style that is experiencing a revival with the emergence of new Ghanaian artists. The album invites you to dance, and legends such as Pat Thomas and Gyedu-Blay Ambolley are featured as guest musicians on selected tracks.

Seckou Keita - Homeland, Chapter 1 (Hudson Records, 2024)

Senegalese kora virtuoso Seckou Keita, known for collaborative albums with artists such as Catrin Finch, Omar Sosa and the BBC Concert Orchestra, returns with Homeland, Chapter 1. This is his first solo album since 2015, and with a host of guest artists, Keita takes listeners on a journey through the rich musical traditions of West Africa.
