In this edition of Izvorišta the focus is on three albums: the new release by South Korean musician Park Jiha, Ablaye Cissoko and Cyrille Brotto once again prove that the symbiosis between kora and accordion can sound incredible, and Tamala, who present themselves as a quartet on their third album.
The show also features music from Lankum, Alsarah & The Nubatones, Sababa 5 & Sophia Solomon, João Selva, Al Andaluz Project and Libérica.

Park Jiha - All Living Things (Glitterbeat 2025.)
Park Jiha comes from South Korea and has consistently released new works every two years since her brilliant 2016 album Communion. Her latest album, All Living Things, once again showcases the beauty of the music she creates with traditional South Korean instruments— - even if it has little to do with traditional music itself. It is difficult to define Park Jiha’s musical style; perhaps it is best described as beautiful music that you want to return to again and again.
Ablaye Cissoko & Cyrille Brotto - Djivo (Ma Case Prod 2025.)
How does a fusion of kora and accordion sound? Fantastic. If you don’t believe me, listen to this album by Senegalese kora musician and singer Ablaye Cissoko and French accordionist Cyrille Brotto. This is their second album after their first collaboration, Instant, which was released in 2022.
Tamala - Diboli (MuziekPublique 2024.)
Tamala is a Belgian group led by Senegalese musician Mola Sylla, which has officially become a quartet with the addition of accordionist and guitarist Olivier Vander Bauwede on their third album. Diboli is a tribute to all the musicians who have contributed to the rich musical traditions of West Africa, but whose names have often disappeared in the course of history.
